Bad news Boards | National Cultural Policy consultation | Field Notes from Bundanon
Welcome to my words, thoughts and ponderings.
This month, I am particularly grateful to those who shared their time, thoughtfulness and (in many cases) trauma to contribute to my ongoing arts governance research.
This enews includes links to an initial analysis of my recent governance survey and a summary of its key findings, along with my draft National Cultural Policy submission to help you prepare your own before August 22nd, and field notes from my recent Bundanon Residency.
NEW: Bad news Boards — www.artshub.com.au
Last year, I asked the sector to imagine a radically different structure for our arts Boards– or a future without them entirely. I’m back on Artshub today sharing the results of my national survey into how those Boards fail.
UPDATED: Have your say on the new national Cultural Policy — larsenkeys.com.au
The Federal Government is developing a 10-year cultural policy, and has invited anyone involved or interested Australian art, culture or entertainment to have their say. If you listen to Australian music, read, watch local-made TV, enjoy going to performances, exhibitions or shows, participate or make any sort of art, this means YOU.
FIELD NOTES: From Bundanon — larsenkeys.com.au
“I came to Bundanon starving and dying of thirst, and it left me quenched and full.” That would have been a familiar metaphor. The truth seems somehow smaller, though the arc remains the same. I came to Bundanon weary. Perhaps as weary as I’d even been, outside of deepest grief.
